This Privacy Policy explains how MonaDea (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit www.monadea.org and order our readings. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

• Order and account data: name, email address, billing address, order history and account login details.
• Payment data: payment status and the last digits of your card. Full card details are entered directly with our payment service provider and are never stored by us.
• Reading information: date of birth, the questions you submit and details about your situation.
• Information about other people: for some readings (for example, compatibility readings or gifts), the name and date of birth of another person.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and cookies.

3. Sensitive information

The questions you submit may include sensitive information, for example about your health, relationships, grief or religious and spiritual beliefs. We process such information only to prepare your reading and only with your explicit consent, which you give at checkout. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect a reading already delivered. We never sell this information or use it for advertising.

If you provide information about another person, you confirm that you are entitled to do so. Please share only what is needed for the reading.

4. Purposes and legal basis

• Preparing and delivering your reading, managing orders and customer support: performance of a contract.
• Processing sensitive reading information: your explicit consent.
• Payment processing and fraud prevention: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest.
• Accounting and tax records: legal obligations.
• Website security and improvement: our legitimate interest.
• Newsletter and marketing emails: only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email.

5. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the website to work (for example, the shopping cart and login). Analytics or marketing cookies are used only with your consent, which you can change at any time in your browser settings or via our cookie banner.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only as far as necessary with:

• our payment service provider, to process payments and refunds;
• hosting and email providers, to run the website and deliver your reading;
• Etsy, for orders placed through our Etsy shop (subject to Etsy’s own privacy policy);
• authorities, where we are legally required to do so.

Reading information (your questions and personal details) is not shared with the payment service provider.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside Switzerland and the EEA. In such cases, we ensure an adequate level of protection, for example through the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Data retention

• Reading information and delivered readings: up to 12 months after delivery, so we can handle questions and corrections, then deleted. You may ask us to delete them earlier.
• Order and payment records: 10 years, as required by Swiss accounting law.
• Account data: until you delete your account.

9. Security

We use SSL/TLS encryption and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to reading information is limited to the person preparing your reading.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise your rights, email info@monadea.org. We reply within 30 days.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or with the data protection authority in your EU country of residence.

11. Age

Our services are intended only for persons aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version is always published on this page with the date of the last update.
